New ADAVB President announced
Australian Dental Association Victorian Branch is delighted to announce their new President for 2021/22, Dr Jeremy Sternson. Dr Sternson graduated from The University of Melbourne in 1995 and has worked in both public and private practice. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and has been an examiner and committee member. Dr Sternson was a clinical demonstrator for seven years at The University of Melbourne and is an honorary fellow at the university.
He is a former chair and current treasurer of the eviDent Foundation Board, and is the deputy co-chair of the eviDent Dental Practice Based Research Network Committee. Dr Sternson is a Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International, Pierre Fauchard Academy and the International College of Dentists. He is vice president of the Australian Central Association of Dentists, an Australian Dental Council examiner, and former Australasian Osseointegration Society Victorian Branch Councillor and Federal Organiser. Dr Sternson is the President’s Representative on the ADAVB CPD Committee and member of the ADAVB Sports and Social Committee.
Dr Sternson said, "I follow on from Angelo Pacella who did an incredible job steering our members through a difficult and turbulent year, mainly due to COVID-19. I joined the ADA for collegiality, education and advocacy, and it is with those three magic words in mind that I aim to improve the services to all our members. We will continue to advocate with government for continuity of practice, sugar tax and third-party issues. We will provide collegiality through events, mentorship and just being there. I want to assure every member that Council is here for you, and our doors are always open. I welcome anyone that wants to speak directly with me to contact me."
We also congratulate Dr Warren Shnider announced as ADAVB Vice President and Dr Andrew Heredia elected Executive Councillor.
