AIDH announces the appointment of new Chair

Former Australian Digital Health Agency interim CEO and Chief Operating Officer Bettina McMahon has been appointed as the new Chair of the Australasian Institute of Digital Health (AIDH).

Ms McMahon will succeed inaugural chair Michael Walsh, who has chaired the institute board since its establishment in February 2020 following the merger of the Health Informatics Society of Australia and the Australasian College of Health Informatics.

Mr Walsh is also chair of the inaugural Digital Health Institute Health Summit, which taking place virtually and in five Australian cities during November.

Mr Walsh will step down after the institute's annual general meeting on November 19.

Ms McMahon said she was looking forward to collaborating with the digital health community through the institute.

“The institute brings together digital health leaders, executives, decision makers, clinicians and nursing professionals from every field of healthcare in a single, influential peak body able to make a real difference,” she said.

“I will be honoured to lead the institute at a time when developments in digital health like artificial intelligence, genomics, virtual care and precision health are rapidly transforming the patient experience.”
