Australian Vignerons CEO steps down

Australian Vignerons announced that its CEO Andrew Weeks has resigned to pursue a new opportunity in the wine industry.  Australian Vignerons thanks Andrew for his commitment to the national peak body working on behalf of growers and makers of wine and wishes him all the best in his new appointment. Jo Andrew, the Chair of Australian Vignerons will assume the role of Executive Chair effective on the 1st May 2018 while the Board searches for a suitable successor.

Australian Vignerons (AV) was formed in order to address the needs of its members, with a focus on benefit to the entire wine sector.  That focus is unchanged and consistent with the optimism of improving fortunes for all in the wine sector, AV remains committed to working for the benefit of its member vignerons across the nation.

AV Chair Jo Andrew said “Our members are adamant that having an effective national body is absolutely necessary, and they have given positive feedback on the work that we are doing with limited resources.  That commitment will continue, as will our focus on building collaboration with national wine sector bodies to deliver outcomes on behalf of our members as efficiently as possible.”

The Board is working closely with AV members to ensure that the national advocacy, fulfilment of biosecurity tasks and collaboration with other industry bodies is strengthened.
