Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association CEO steps down

After five years in the job, Jan Davis has decided not to renew her contact AS CEO at the Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association (TFGA) when it expires in April. Ms Davis was the first woman to hold the top position in TFGA.

TFGA chairman Wayne Johnson said Ms Davis had done an excellent job raising the organisation’s profile and finding her replacement would be difficult.

“Jan has worked at this job for seven days a week for the nearly five years she’s been here and I think we’ve been extremely lucky to get someone of her calibre to come in and take us to a new level,” he said. “Last year we were listed if not number one, then close to number one, of all the leading advocacy groups for farmers in Australia.”

Ms Davis said she was awed by the imagination and innovation of farmers and credited their sizeable contribution to the economy but looking forward to her retirement.

“With the rollout of irrigation schemes across the state and increased focus on Tasmania’s unique products, this is a such an exciting time,” said Ms Davis.
