Ruth Webber appointed CEO at Down Syndrome Australia

Ruth Webber has been appointed CEO of Down Syndrome Australia. Ms Webber has previously worked for many years in politics as a campaigner, policy advertiser, political party official and Senator for Western Australia. Since then, she has advised a number of not-for-profit organisations.

Ms Webber is currently Deputy President of the Mental Illness Fellowship of WA and has service on several boards, including Carers WA, Women’s Health Words and the ArtSound FM radio station.

Ms Webber said she was hoping to raise awareness about the Down syndrome community’s plight and to work towards a more secure future for people with Down syndrome.

“I’m hoping I can use whatever skills, networks and knowledge I have to bring the Down syndrome community’s issues to the attention of the government and other key decision makers,” she said.
