Malaysia vying for Business Tourism Sector

Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) unveiled three key initiatives at AIME 2015. These initiatives are designed to draw business events to the Southeast Asia country. The three campaigns, names Malaysia Year of Festivals (MyFEST) 2015, Malaysia Like Never Before, and Malaysia Twin Deal X (MTD-X) respectively, are value-added corporate meetings and incentive promotions.

“With the introduction of these new initiatives couple with our delegation size here at AIME, we are confident that we have the right inspiration to set Malaysia apart as an ideal destination for tourists and business visitors alike,” said Zulkefi Haji Sharif, CEO of MyCEB.

MyFEST 2015

Continuing the momentum gained by Visit Malaysia Year 2014, MyFEST 2015 is set to bring more events and festivals to Malaysia. The initiative aims to boost tourist numbers by encouraging visitors to extend their stay in the country to enjoy the festive offerings throughout the year. By combining business tourism with leisure tourism, MyFEST 2015 showcases Malaysia’s rich and diverse cultural heritage.

Malaysia Like Never Before

This campaign is tailored to the incentives market and highlights the unique and less-visited features of five key Malaysian destinations: Langkawi, Georgetown, Kuala Lumpur, Mount Kinabalu and Kuching. Although these destinations are in demand for business events, Malaysia Like Never Before seeks to highlight the less well-known aspects of these destinations, such as things to do, places to stay and cuisine to try.

Malaysia Twin Deal X (MTD X)

A continuation of the 2014 Malaysia Twin Deal ++ (MTD ++), MTD X is comprised of two programs that provide value-added support for international corporate meetings and incentive groups.
