Welcome Osteopathy Australia!
The Australian Osteopathic Association (AOA) is now officially known as Osteopathy Australia. The name change comes from the desire to better promote osteopathy to the Australian public and we see the proactive rebranding as a way to place more focus on osteopathy itself. The change also makes the association name more manageable and easier to remember for other organisations and members of the public.
A recent membership survey showed that the vast majority of our members wanted us to increase the promotion of osteopathy to the Australian public. We sought the advice of two media companies and worked with our own Public Relations Committee to identify options for better promotions. This included the need to change the organisation’s name.
The change was voted in at a Special General Meeting with over 80% of the voting members casting their ballot in favour of the change.
Osteopathy Australia is the peak body representing the interests of osteopaths, osteopathy as a profession and consumer's right to access osteopathic services. Osteopathy Australia is a national organisation with state and territory based councils.
