New Chair at Victorian State Council of AMI

The Victorian State Council of the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) has announced Alex Makin as Chair. He will serve a two year term, ending in November, 2016.

Mr Makin has over 15 years marketing and communications experience and has been the Managing Director and Principal Founder of Syneka Marketing, a strategic marketing agency, since 2009. He was also elected Mayor in Maroondah City Council in 2010, the youngest person to ever hold the position. Mr Makin actively used the power of social media and blogging during his tenure.

Mr Makin said he was looking forward to the challenges of the role and the impact he could make as Chair of AMI.

“It is exciting to be able to help shape the future of marketing within Victoria and Australia,” said Mr Makin. “I look forward to strengthening the marketing profession in the years ahead.”

Mr Makin also hopes to provide more clarity on the role of the marketer and what results could be expected.
