LASA Chair Gen Peter Cosgrove announced as Governor-General
On behalf of Leading Age Services Australia (LASA), CEO Patrick Reid extends Gen Peter Cosgrove the warmest congratulations on his appointment to Governor-General. Peter is an iconic Australian who has served our nation well beyond normal measure. He will make a fine Governor-General and we applaud Prime Minister Abbott on the appointment.
LASA’s loss is the nation’s gain. Gen Cosgrove served as our inaugural chairman, providing wisdom coupled with technical ability, to guide the organisation through the critical formation of LASA and beyond. Peter demonstrates a commitment and passion for supporting older Australians, the age service providers who are LASA’s members and ultimately the industry as a whole.
LASA wishes Gen Cosgrove and his wife Lynne the very best in this demanding role, wholly confident that they will serve the nation and its people with distinction.
