Some cybersecurity studies state that 90% or more of cybersecurity breaches are caused by human error or negligence.
Because of this, there is no better return on your cybersecurity investment than what your Association spends on training.
Unfortunately, only about half of Associations tell me that they make this low-cost investment. And that number is significantly less for those conducting training more than once a year.
During National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, it’s a good time to reconsider your organisation’s investment in cybersecurity training.
Cybercriminals take advantage of people’s general tendencies
Cybercriminals look for the lowest means of resistance into an organisation’s systems. In this case, it’s via people.
People are generally trustworthy of others.
People are busy and often multi-tasking.
People will often avoid inconveniences like creating unique passwords.
People are… well, people.
Hackers know this. So, they will try to obtain access to your systems via people before they try harder tactics.
Cybercriminals’ tactics are changing constantly
While some Associations may be doing cybersecurity training once a year, in today’s world it’s not enough.
With the advancement of AI, hackers are adjusting their tactics continuously requiring a more proactive approach to training.
New cybersecurity awareness program for Associations
In response to frequent requests, Roundbox Consulting will soon be releasing a 12-month cybersecurity awareness program specifically designed for Associations.
This program will help your organisation create a culture of cybersecurity awareness, unlike the typical one-off compliance course.
