Our Cat Herder has released version history for minutes, so a board secretary can open or restore an earlier wording of a meeting's minutes without keeping copies outside the portal.

Minutes are rarely written once. They are drafted during the meeting, tidied up afterwards, refined when a director queries a point, and confirmed at sign-off. Version history keeps a record of each step, so the full progression stays available.

Every save of minutes on an agenda item or sub-item is now snapshotted. Anyone with minutes-management permission can open a past version, read it and restore it, and the restore is recorded too, so you can step back again. Quick successive edits by the same person collapse into one entry to keep the list readable, and a version is always kept when minutes are marked draft-ready, when they are  signed off, and when they are unlocked for editing afterwards.

The release adds two further protections. If another tab, device or person saved newer minutes while you were editing, your save is held back with a conflict warning rather than replacing that work. And clearing minutes that already hold content asks for an explicit confirmation, with the previous version kept on file.

It follows User Groups, which lets associations run finance, audit and other subcommittees in the same portal as the board at no extra cost, and document version history, which does the same job for stored files.

Two features are in development for later this year: In Camera agenda items, for the confidential part of a board meeting, and Board Member Skills Mapping and Matrices, for recording the skills held around the table against the skills the board needs.
