Partner News: Governology - lodge an annual self-review form
Published on Tuesday, 16 July 2024
As the 2023-24 income year approaches, non-charitable not-for-profits with an active ABN will be required to lodge an annual self-review form to access an income tax exemption.
The 2023–24 NFP self-review return must be lodged between 1 July and 31 October 2024.
Governology lawyers would be pleased to assist your professional or industry association or other for-purpose organisation in clarifying your income tax position.
Governology can advise you on the recent developments in taxation including:
- Whether your organisation needs to lodge a notice or tax return;
- Reviewing whether your governing documents comply with the ATO requirements;
- Clarifying the types of income tax exempt entities under Division 50 of Income Tax Assessment Act 1997;
- Assessing if your organisation may be a charity; and
- Advising on the new reporting requirements.
For help with clarifying the tax status of your association or not-for-profit, please call us on 02 9413 9999 or email info@governology.org.
