KBDi and ACFA Merge to Strengthen the Industry

A bold and exciting new chapter has been announced for the kitchen, bathroom, and cabinetry industry. Following a successful member vote at its Annual General Meeting on 14 May, the Kitchen and Bathroom Designers Institute (KBDi) will merge with the Australian Cabinet and Furniture Association (ACFA). This strategic alliance unites two highly respected organisations that share a vision for a stronger, more unified industry.

Why This Merger Matters
Greater Strength and Stability
Together, KBDi and ACFA will establish a more resilient organisation with enhanced resources to support professionals in design, manufacturing, and supply.

A United Industry Voice
This merger strengthens advocacy efforts, giving the combined organisation a louder, more influential voice on the issues that matter to the industry.

Expanded Training and Development
ACFA’s long-standing role as a Registered Training Organisation presents exciting opportunities for expanding design education—most notably through the planned launch of a Certificate IV in Kitchen and Bathroom Design.

This merger aims to build a future-ready organisation that supports everyone in the supply chain—from designers and manufacturers to industry partners and educators.

Both organisations are excited about what lies ahead and look forward to sharing more details in the coming weeks. Stakeholders are encouraged to stay tuned for updates and opportunities as this exciting journey begins.
