Geospatial Council of Australia goes into Administration

Yesterday, the Board of the Geospatial Council of Australia (GCA) made the difficult yet necessary decision to enter voluntary administration. RSM Australia Partners have been appointed to support the organisation through this process.
This decision, while difficult, was taken to ensure the long-term sustainability of the organisation and the continued delivery of value to the sector it serves.
As a not-for-profit organisation representing a vibrant and vital industry, GCA remains committed to transparency, accountability, and above all, the ongoing service of its members.
GCA has recently faced a combination of challenges that have led to this position, including continued delays in the settlement of Surveyors House in Canberra, as well as a lower-than-expected financial return from FIG Working Week + Locate25.
With the support of its members and the Administrators, GCA is committed to continuing operations throughout the Administration process. The organisation is currently working alongside Administrators to determine what services and events can continue and will advise members as soon as possible.
GCA is extremely grateful to all those who continue to support the organisation, especially its members. The sector is full of passionate, talented, and generous people. With their patience and support, GCA is determined to emerge from this period stronger, more focused, and better equipped to advocate for the critical role geospatial plays across Australia.
GCA will continue to keep stakeholders informed as the Administration process unfolds. In the meantime, the organisation thanks all for their understanding, trust, and belief in what can be achieved together.
