Scott Bumpstead to be ED of STAV

I am delighted to share the exciting news of Scott Bumpstead's appointment as the new Executive Director of the Science Teachers Association of Victoria (STAV), commencing January 2025.

Scott's career reflects exceptional leadership across education, fitness, sport, and not-for-profit sectors. His expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and organisational transformation, combined with a proven ability to drive growth and foster high-performing teams, makes him an outstanding choice for this pivotal role.

Most recently, as General Manager of Services at ACHPER Victoria, Scott oversaw professional learning, events, and marketing, successfully delivering innovative initiatives and providing critical advocacy during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Scott’s passion for collaboration, innovation, and advocacy aligns perfectly with STAV’s mission to champion science education in Victoria. As he steps into this role, I am confident that his dynamic leadership and vision will support STAV in building upon its legacy and driving its impact for educators, students, and the broader community.

I want to extend my gratitude to the STAV Council and President Alexandra Abela for their trust in partnering with us to identify and appoint such a remarkable leader. It's been a privilege to assist STAV in this important chapter of its journey, and I’m excited to see Scott lead the organisation to new heights.

Congratulations, Scott! We wish you every success in this role as you work to inspire the next generation of critical thinkers and innovators through science education.

John Peacock AM, CEO, Associations Forum on December 3, 2024.
