Meetings & Events Australia has appointed Mellisa Gillies as its new CEO following the departure of Peter McDonald in August.

From Lantian Consulting, Gillies brings a wealth of board governance and compliance experience across both Australia and Asia to the role.

MEA Chair Vanessa Green welcomed Gillies to the position.

“Mellisa brings a wealth of experience across tourism, travel, and events industries, and I’m confident her leadership will be instrumental in guiding MEA into 2025 and beyond,” Green said in a statement.
