Lyndal Macpherson to depart ASUM
"As many of you already know, after a fulfilling and transformative tenure, I have decided to step down as the Chief Executive Officer of the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM). This decision comes with mixed emotions, as I reflect on the incredible journey we've had together and the milestones we've achieved.
Over eight years at ASUM, I have had the privilege of working alongside a passionate team dedicated to advancing ultrasound practices and education. Here are a few highlights that I am particularly proud of:
1. Establishing ASUM Outreach: This program has significantly extended our impact, providing essential ultrasound education and services to underserved communities. This initiative embodies ASUM’s commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and outcomes.
2. Building the ASUM Brand: We have worked tirelessly to elevate the ASUM brand, ensuring it stands as a beacon of excellence in the medical community. Through strategic partnerships, innovative marketing, and a strong digital presence, ASUM is now more recognisable and respected than ever.
3. Improving Governance: Strengthening our governance structures has been a priority. We have implemented robust policies and practices that ensure transparency, accountability, and sustainability, positioning ASUM for continued success in the future.
I am incredibly grateful for the support of the vibrant community of ASUM members and volunteers, our dedicated staff, and the Board of Directors. Together, we have navigated challenges, celebrated successes, and made a lasting impact on the field of ultrasound in medicine.
As I transition to the next chapter of my career, I am confident ASUM will continue to thrive and achieve even greater heights in the future. I look forward to witnessing the continued growth and innovation that will undoubtedly shape the next era of ASUM.
