Partner News: Newcastle City Hall hosts highly coveted convention

October saw Newcastle become the destination of choice for Australia's regional tourism industry, with more than 230 representatives from across the country travelling to the city for their annual conference.

Newcastle City Hall was chosen to host the highly coveted 2023 Australian Regional Tourism convention (ARTC) from 10-12 October, which was one of 11 large-scale business events hosted in the city in the same month.

“The conference is a wonderful chance to learn from the experiences of our colleagues in this sector, expand our networks and showcase just what our city has to offer including our incredible business events venues", City of Newcastle Destination & Economy Manager Georgia Lazzari said.

Opened in 1929, City Hall is one of Newcastle's most prestigious and unique venues, boasting grand architecture, sandstone pillars and marble staircases. With six accessible function rooms, Newcastle City Hall has played host to a vast array of functions, including civic receptions, national and international conferences, trade shows and expos, corporate meetings and product launches.

Event organisers are in experienced hands with the Newcastle City Hall team, from booking and event management through to catering by the in-house Executive Chef. The use of locally sourced gourmet catering, professionalism, and impeccable attention to detail will ensure delegates have the ultimate event experience from beginning to end.

Australian Regional Tourism PCO and The Event Studio Director Rachael Rogers said the efforts of the team at City Hall contributed to the overall success of ARTC 2023.

"All the staff at the venue were approachable and willing to assist and it was a pleasure to work with the team in the planning stages, making the process very smooth".
