Partner News: Enhancing Cyber Security, Efficiency and Frontline Worker Integration for Not-For-Profit Organisations: A Comprehensive Guide by Microsoft and Bremmar

Microsoft and Bremmar, a finalist for the 2021 Microsoft Not-For-Profit Partner of the Year award, have collaborated to develop a vital tool that significantly improves cyber security and efficiency for Not-For-Profit organisations that addresses the unique challenges NFPs face in Australia.

Bremmar's Managing Director, Brenton Harris, acknowledges some of the industry's pain points. For example, frontline workers often use different devices to handle client data, and they need to do so efficiently, securely and streamlined. "Care workers shouldn't access multiple applications via their mobile phones to input data. When working remotely with clients, they need seamless access using one or two apps."

Out-of-the-box security solutions also don't work for every organisation and budget. "We understand clients' difficulties meeting internal and external demands for a cyber security plan and mitigating the risks from evolving IT systems. Our goal is to help NFPs meet their cyber security obligations and ensure continued access to their grant programs and funding while safeguarding their reputation."

Rushad Billimoria, Bremmar's NFP Consultant, emphasises the essential nature of cyber security for human services organisations handling clients' sensitive data. "Leveraging tools such as Microsoft 365 and adhering to guidelines from governing bodies like the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) and the Essential 8 framework are key to NFPs to maintain a pristine reputation and minimise risk."

Considering that Microsoft's Defense Report lists the NFP sector as the second most targeted industry for cyber attacks, this guide was created to incorporate valuable insights and more than 15 years of industry expertise. It offers a free "Essential 8 Security Assessment for NFPs", an excellent starting point for evaluating an organisation's cyber security posture.
