Perth, Western Australia will host the 14th World Environmental Education Congress (WEEC) in 2026.
Returning to Australia for the first time in 15 years, WEEC will bring leading environmentalists, policymakers and educators from around the world to Perth in the Spring of 2026.
WEEC is the largest international congress addressing education for the environment and sustainable development.
Recognising Western Australia’s position as a global leader in environmental education, WEEC 2026 is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the State’s unique, vast and extraordinary landscapes.
Stimulating conversations and collaborations that will have a lasting impact on key environmental initiatives, WEEC 2026 reinforces Western Australia’s global standing as a destination for impactful conferences and provides the opportunity to spotlight Western Australia’s commitment to environmental conservation and education to the world.
Western Australia is home to multiple UNESCO World Heritage sites including Purnululu National Park in Australia’s Northwest to Ningaloo Reef in the Coral Coast and Fremantle Prison in Destination Perth.
Crafting a more inclusive and sustainable future Western Australian communities continue to implement strong programs to support greener economies, greener legislations and greener societies.
The City of Perth was recently recognised as the 2023 Tree City of the World, acknowledging the city’s work in expanding and caring for the urban tree canopy across city parks and streets.
