IPWEA announce new President and Vice President for 2024

The Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia (IPWEA) has announced Ian Daniels and Ben Clark have been elected as the new President and Vice President, respectively, at their AGM on Friday 3rd November 2023.
Ian Daniels will take over from outgoing President Myles Lind. Mr Daniels expressed his gratitude to the outgoing President and his excitement to take on the role.
"I have been involved in IPWEA for many years, including being the President of IPWEA WA from 2017-2019. I am passionate about the public works profession and look forward to working alongside members and continuing the positive growth of the organisation."
"I would like to thank my colleague, Myles, for his outstanding leadership during the last two years, with the board undergoing a period of substantial change to lay the foundations for future success."
"Following in Myle's indelible footsteps, I am proud to be leading IPWEA alongside my Vice President, Ben Clark, a highly respected practitioner in South Australia and currently President of the South Australian Division," Mr Daniels added.
Ben Clark is equally thankful for the opportunity to have an ongoing presence on the Australasian Board. “I'm looking forward to supporting Ian and the organisation in continuing to build on the foundations laid by the previous leaders,” said Ben.
Ian explains, "we have had several successful years growing our ecosystem of tools, publications and educational programs nationally and, more recently, internationally into North America and Europe. We are well respected on the global stage as leaders in infrastructure asset management and public works. I am keen to continue supporting all IPWEA Divisions with grassroots public works services to enhance the quality of life of the communities we serve. There is much to be done."
