Ian Thomas, Chief Executive Officer, The Institution of Surveyors Victoria

Ian Thomas is the Chief Executive Officer of the Institution of Surveyors Victoria (ISV), one of the oldest professional bodies in Australia, representing the largest number of individual Licensed Surveyors in Victoria, delivering value for Members through an extensive program of seminars, conferences and events focused on professional development, training opportunities and networking, liaising with Government and industry on matters of training, ethics, knowledge sharing and welfare. Ian brings extensive club management and committee experience from his role as Club Liaison Officer, Monash University and various roles including 14 years on the Board of the 24,000 strong Old Wesley Collegians Association (OWCA) and as College Head OWCA, his career includes Public Relations, Marketing, publishing, and promotional and corporate incentives with major brands. With a focus on service, communications, brand, engagement, building relationships and strong events, a background in both small business and large, with a passion for design, art, photography and music, his past includes interiors consultant, chef, restaurateur and manager of a record label. Ian believes acceptance, understanding human nature, and finding members’ passions = engagement.
