Wellington's new conference venue gains momentum

Bookings are flowing in for Wellington’s new purpose-built convention and exhibition centre opening in 2023.
Construction is on track and conference organisers are locking in dates for Tākina, to be known as a place of welcoming, learning and sharing.
Jo Robinson, from DC Conference & Association Management, is lucky enough to have visited Tākina already and says it will have a positive impact for associations considering conferencing in New Zealand.
"I was very excited to see first-hand the progress that is taking shape on the Tākina site.
“The scale of the build is impressive and will offer an added level of versatility for Wellington as a conference destination for the association sector.”
Sitting across two levels and ideal for international and local conferences up to 2000 delegates, Tākina sits at the heart of New Zealand’s compact, walkable capital.
Just a short drive from the airport, Wellington is also known for its connectedness, meaning easy access to New Zealand’s government agencies, education institutes and local industry leaders.
Associations planning a conference in New Zealand for 2023 and beyond can register their interest now for a Wellington famil in May 2022.
