Associations Forum returns to Sydney for the 17th Associations Forum National Conference
Associations Forum returned to Sydney last week for its premier association sector National Conference with over 550 attending from across the country. The conference was hosted at the new Winx Stand, Australian Turf Club at Royal Randwick Racecourse on 27 – 28 April 2023.
Attendees included delegates and speakers from professional and industry associations as well as suppliers to the sector. The two-and-a-half-day conference welcomed hundreds of association experts, executives and Board members to 40 educational sessions, learning labs, conversation corners and networking events. There were over 60 exhibition stands of sponsors and exhibitors who specialise in products and services to the not-for-profit sector.
The conference kicked off with an Association Success Masterclass for Gold Members at Novotel Sydney Central followed by a networking welcome drinks evening function hosted by Watersedge at Campbell’s Stores. Day one featured an impressive opening plenary with keynote speakers Peter J. O'Neil, CEO, ASIS International, Ainslie van Onselen, CEO, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and Steve Knott AM, Chief Executive, Australian Resources and Energy Employers Association who shared their association experience and case studies. Following a suite of multi-stream sessions, the first evening ended with a spectacular conference dinner hosted by Doltone House at Darling Island in Pyrmont.
Day two’s highlight was a special plenary with Jennifer Moltisanti, Assistant Commissioner - Not For Profit Centre, Australian Tax Office who shared the new changes and rules around Income Tax Exemptions for 2023. The conference concluded with the inspirational Jana Pittman, Dual Sport Olympian, World Champion, Author, Doctor, and Mum taking us on the roller coaster journey of her triumph, defeat, failure and success.
Thrilled with the sector’s eagerness for face-to-face meeting opportunities to discuss perennial issues within the associations sector, Associations Forum looks forward to hosting the National Conference again in 2024.
