Foodservice Suppliers Association Australia Appoints New CEO

The Foodservice Suppliers Association Australia (FSAA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Minnie Constan as its new CEO, following the retirement of longstanding incumbent Vince Crawley effective 6 June.

Minnie’s long association with Australia’s foodservice sector stretches back more than two decades to when she was appointed Event Director for Diversified Communications, in which position she was responsible for organising and directing Fine Food Australia, the nation’s premier foodservice tradeshow and one of the most prominent events on the annual hospitality calendar.

Over that time Minnie has forged strong links with many of foodservice’s leading lights and the FSAA is now set to benefit from her personal connections and extensive network of contacts across the industry.

Since leaving Diversified Communications in July last year, Minnie has spent the last 10 months as Executive Director for the Colac Area Health Foundation, in which position she has been responsible for developing strategic, tactical and operational aspects of the foundation along with its marketing, events, financials, donor management and growth.

“I am very excited to be returning to the foodservice sector, and the FSAA is a perfect fit for my return,” Minnie said. “It’s not only committed to giving back to the industry but also nurturing the industry to be stronger into the future.

“I would also like to acknowledge the sterling work of my predecessor Vince Crawley who has done so much to advance the FSAA over the past 13 years. Although it’s sad to see Vince leave, I’m very proud to be able to follow in his footsteps in taking on this role.”

In announcing Minnie’s appointment, FSAA Chairman Yezdi Daruwalla added: “I am thrilled that Minnie will be stepping into the position from 6 June. Aside from being the powerhouse behind Fine Food Australia, Minnie is highly regarded for her positivity, strategic thinking and relationship building. She is very much looking forward to coming back into the foodservice arena and leading the next chapter of the FSAA story.”

Yezdi and the FSAA Board also took the opportunity to pay tribute to outgoing CEO Vince Crawley, thanking him for his leadership and drive.

“When Vince took over the reins, the FSAA had 17 members. Today it has more than 300 - and multiple services encompassing networking, education, training and professional development,” Yezdi said.

“Vince has made the FSAA the leading and credible industry association it is today and is leaving it in a good place, with a strong legacy to help ensure its continued growth.”
