ACC Australia Elects New National President

The Association of Corporate Counsel Australia (ACC Australia) has elected Mei Ramsay as its new National President, succeeding Justin Coss, who had served as National President since November 2019.

Ramsay will hold the role for the next two years. Ramsay has served on the ACC Australia board since 2015 and was also formerly Chair of the ACC Australia GC100 Group and a member of Chief Executive Women.

“I look forward to continuing to support ACC Australia to grow, innovate and provide world-class education, networking and resources to its members,” said Ramsay. “It is truly an honour for me to serve as ACC Australia’s National President, and I am grateful for the trust and confidence bestowed by my colleagues upon me."

“I want to particularly acknowledge the leadership provided by Justin Coss, who has led ACC Australia through the most difficult of times, navigating the uncertain and constantly changing environment with determination and resilience,” she said.

Ramsay was appointed Group Executive – Legal, Governance & Compliance for Medibank Private Limited in September 2016 and has been the Company Secretary since 2014. She previously held the position of Group General Counsel from 2011. Ramsay is responsible for leading the legal and governance functions, including compliance, regulatory affairs and company secretariat, and providing legal and corporate governance advice to Medibank’s Board, Chief Executive Officer and senior management.

Ramsay has more than 25 years of experience in the legal profession, both as a senior in-house legal adviser for multinational and international companies, as well as a private practitioner.

Prior to joining Medibank, Mei was the General Counsel and Company Secretary for the Asia Pacific region at Cummins Inc, and before that held various senior legal positions at Coles Myer Ltd and Southcorp Limited. Mei started her legal career at Arnold Bloch Leibler and also worked as a Senior Associate at Minter Ellison.
