SSAA Appoints new CEO

The Self Storage Association of Australia (SSAA) has confirmed the appointment of their new CEO, Makala Ffrench Castelli. Makala commenced her role as CEO in August 2021, following eight years working across the self storage sector. She has held a range of senior roles with major operators, suppliers and as a contributing editor to the SSAA research program. She has more than fifteen years’ experience in marketing, strategy and corporate affairs in the property and finance industries. Makala brings a positive, pragmatic approach to her work and is keen to build on the strong foundations set by the SSAA’s original founding members in 1990. She is passionate about delivering great member experiences and is a strong advocate for industry research and insights that help members grow their business. Makala is an experienced non-executive director, a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia and has spent more than a decade in board, committee and advisory roles in the not-for-profit sector.
