ISQ appoints new CEO

Independent Schools Queensland (ISQ) is delighted to advise that the ISQ Board has appointed Mr Christopher Mountford as the incoming Chief Executive Officer (CEO), ahead of David Robertson's retirement in July.

Chris is currently Executive Director at the Property Council of Australia (Queensland Division), a role he has held for the last six years. Prior to this he held the roles of Deputy Executive Director and Policy and Research Manager for an additional six years at the Property Council.

Chris has also held positions of Member Services Manager and Roads, Transport and lnfrastructure Policy Officer in other organisations including the Local Government Association of Queensland. Chris is an alumni of a member school, holds a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science) and a Bachelor of Economics and is a Graduate of AICD. He is also a volunteer Parent Ambassador for ACT For Kids; a charity focused on treating and preventing child abuse.

Chris impressed the Board with his intelligence, values alignment with ISQ and great understanding of and commitment to a member services organisation. His referees noted his strategic intelligence and viewed him as an intuitive and natural leader who is very approachable and relational. Keen to learn more about independent schools in Queensland and ISQ itself, Chris is excited about assuming this position and working with the Board and ISQ staff, to lead ISQ into the future.

Upon his commencement, Chris will embark on an extensive induction program which will see him visit regions and metropolitan areas across Queensland as he begins to learn more about our members and their communities.

The Board of ISQ looks forward to welcoming Chris as its new CEO. They also look forward to acknowledging David's wonderful commitment to ISQ over the next few months.
