HIMAA appoints Jae Redden as new CEO

Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) appoints Jae Redden as their new Chief Executive Officer. She is the former CEO of Medical Journal of Australia publisher AMPCo.

Ms Redden takes over from interim CEO Mark Upton who has been holding the fort since February following the departure of former CEO Richard Lawrance.

Ms Redden has experience both in professional membership-based organisations and providers of health information, having been a board member of the Australasian College of Paramedicine and holding senior roles with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Association for Tertiary Education Management and Elsevier Health.

She has also worked for international publishers such as McGraw-Hill, CCH and LexisNexis. She holds a Master of Arts in international communication, a post graduate diploma in editing and publishing and a Bachelor of Arts in applied communication.

HIMAA president Cheens Lee paid tribute to Mr Upton, who led the association and its national office through the COVID-19 pandemic while also maintaining his senior management role at the Tasmanian Health Service.
