New ASA President

The Australian Sonographers Association (ASA) Board has announced the election of Mr Ian Schroen as its new President, effective Saturday the 30th of November 2019.

Having served on the Board since 2017 and Vice-President since 2018, Mr Schroen's 20-year career has spanned extensive senior clinical management and commercial roles.

Mr Schroen is recognised for both clinical and research excellence in ultrasound.

I feel honoured to take on this role and I am impressed by the dedication of the Board, office staff and many volunteers," said Mr Schroen.

"I would like to thank our outgoing President, Dr Jennifer Alphonse for her vision and hard work over the past three years. The Board and I would like to recognise her invaluable leadership during this period of rapid expansion”.

It has been my great pleasure to serve as the President of the ASA for the past three years," said Dr Alphonse.

I would like to thank the Board for its unwavering support and I am honoured to serve as Vice-President moving forward."
