Freshcare appoints new CEO

Australia’s leading industry-owned assurance standard for horticulture, Freshcare, has today announced the appointment of CEO, Benjamin Wash, following an extensive search that commenced in August.

“On behalf of the Freshcare board I am pleased to announce the appointment of Benjamin Wash,” said Freshcare Chair Allan Dall.
“The newly-created role ensures Freshcare is equipped and resourced to deliver on its continued commitment to be Australia’s leading certification for Australian Horticulture.”

The appointment comes as Freshcare’s participating business numbers from across horticulture continue to grow.
“It is critically important that Freshcare and the Freshcare team has strong leadership and support as we manage this growth,” Mr Dall said.

Mr Wash joins Freshcare following successful finance and leadership roles across government, the not-for-profit sector and industry, including as former CEO of Taxi Council QLD.

“I am very much looking forward to working with the board, senior executive team and staff to ensure we maintain and grow our position as a leader in Australian horticulture quality assurance and continue to deliver exceptional service to our members and participating businesses,” Mr Wash said.

Mr Wash will commence the role from 14 October 2019.
