UDIA WA CEO RESIGNS

The Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA WA) has announced the resignation of CEO Allison Hailes. 

“Allison has been integral to UDIA’s continued success and growth as the leading organisation representing the property development industry in Western Australia,” UDIA WA President Nick Allingame said. 

“Allison has been an excellent ambassador for the development industry in her ability to build relationships across the spectrum of the industry and at all levels of government,” Mr Allingame said. 

“During her tenure, Allison has played a significant role in several major government reform processes including the current planning reform; housing affordability; strata title reform and improvements to development contribution schemes,” Mr Allingame said.
 
“In her role as CEO Allison has also led important conversations about the need to ensure land supply, improve housing affordability, achieve greater housing diversity, streamline environmental approvals processes and more efficient planning and investment in infrastructure for WA,” Mr Allingame said. 

“Allison has also been an ambassador for greater community engagement and consultation at the early stages of the strategic planning and development process,” Mr Allingame said.   

“UDIA is passionate about the future growth of Perth and ensuring that we are building communities that meet the needs of our growing and evolving population,” Mr Allingame said. “Allison has spearheaded the need for better coordination and transparency across government to achieve the best possible results for the places we live, work and play in.” 

Ms Hailes said that she is leaving UDIA to move to the United Kingdom to spend time with her elderly parents but she looks forward to returning to live in Perth in the future.

Ms Hailes resignation is effective from November 2018
