The Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA), the peak business organisation representing manufacturers and suppliers of innovative dental products, announced at its Annual General Meeting on Friday, 26 October 2018, that members elected Ms Tanya McRae of Dental Installations as the new ADIA National President.

Ms McRae has experience in the areas of financial and strategic planning and has brought these skills to her previous involvement in the ADIA, particularly through service on the ADIA Board, ADIANew South Wales President and on the ADIA-TCPC Trade & Commercial Policy Committee.

“I am extremely passionate about the dental industry and am pleased to have this opportunity to serve our members in a greater capacity. At ADIA our collective focus is on providing the infrastructure that allows member businesses to grow, create jobs and operate sustainably,” Ms McRae said.

Ms McRae is also looking to continue the work of outgoing ADIA National President, Mr Phil Jolly in relation to the 2016-20 ADIA Strategic Plan.

“ADIA’s strategic plan includes a raised awareness of the new and innovative patient treatment pathways the dental industry offers Australia’s oral health community.  The take-up of these new products depends on the sustainability of dental practices which has been a major focus of the ADIA in recent years and will continue to be,” Ms McRae said.

Ms McRae also paid tribute to Mr Jolly, who served as ADIA National President from 2016-18.

“Phil has provided incredible leadership for the dental industry, including the creation and implementation of the 2016-20 ADIA Strategic Plan. As a result, the dental industry is supported by an organisation that provides more market intelligence to members than ever before and is an effective advocate at a political level for the issues that are important to businesses across the dental industry,” Ms McRae said.

Uniquely positioned to understand the interests of small businesses in the sector, Ms McRae has been a Director at Dental Installations since 2008.  Previous experience includes management roles as in Australia and New Zealand at Bytecraft Systems from 2001-07. Ms McRae was also a project manager with Aristocrat Australia from 2000-02.
