FIAA and CMDA merger

The Furnishing Industry Association of Australia (FIAA) has announced an upcoming merger with the Cabinet Makers and Designers Association (CMDA) of Victoria.

FIAA has almost 400 members and, as a result of this amalgamation, will take more than 200 current CMDA members into its fold.

Chief Executive Officer of FIAA, Dean Brakell, released an announcement about what the merger will mean for the future:

It’s business as usual. In fact, we believe our services will be enhanced as we gain strength in numbers and collaborate with our partners in Victoria. As we bring the CMDA’s members into the FIAA, our geographic footprint will spread, enabling us to enhance our productivity and value proposition for the industry while creating new opportunities and services for our members.

Over the next few months, we will be changing our branding and trading name to the Australian Cabinet & Furniture Association which will better reflect our membership base. With this change will also come an exciting new website and logo.

These things will not change:

  •       Our personal approach
  •       Our people
  •       Our services
  •       Our fee structure

We look forward to a prosperous future for our members and the industry.
