SPAA renamed SMSF Association
In a bid to clarify what it actually does, SPAA has changed its name to the Self Managed Super Fund Association (SMSF Association).
The Association was quick to clarify that other than renaming and slight logo update, not a lot has changed. The basic logo design and brand style, staff and goal of SMSF Association has been retained and Specialists have a transition phase of 12 months to update to the new logo. All certificates issued from 11 February will carry the new branding, however previous qualifications will not need to be updated.
SMSF Association undertook the change after it conducted research with trustees and advisors, which revealed a level of confusion around the name. In a statement, SMSF Association said “for an industry association representing around one million SMSF trustees, billions of dollars of assets and thousands of professional advisors, there is no room for confusion. It is appropriate that we have a name that reflects the importance of the sector and the breadth of its membership.”
Members wishing to adopt the new logo can do so from the member’s area.
