New ADASA President optimistic about the future
The Australian Dental Association SA (ADASA) has announced their new president is Dr Anthony Smerdon, who was elected last month. He succeeded Dr Janet Fuss.
One of Dr Smerdon’s first moves as president was to praise the recent decision to integrate the University of Adelaide’s dentistry and a public dental service. The future of the clinic is secure for the next 30 years and Dr Smerdon hoped the longevity of the project would improve access to dental services for public patients.
“The decision to continue the long-standing partnership between the University of Adelaide and the South Australian Dental Service is very logical. The university has a strong reputation for excellence in dentistry training and research and it is good to see that the new facility will build on this experience,” Dr Smerdon said.
Dr Smerdon also said he felt optimistic about the future of education and training in the dental industry.
