GS1 Australia signs MoU with AIPM to harness collaboration

GS1 Australia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) to establish, promote and strengthen collaboration between the two membership organisations. 

The AIPM’s National Director, Trevor Alex and Victorian President, Michael Ratcliffe signed the MoU in the boardroom of the GS1 Australia Melbourne office on 11th March 2014 in the presence of Steven Pereira, GS1 Australia’s CIO & Head of GS1 Institute who signed on behalf of GS1 Australia.

“This agreement provides members from both organisations with the opportunity, through the GS1 Australia Institute and the AIPM, to cross-cultivate project management best practices with the implementation of GS1 standards and services,” said GS1 Australia’s CIO & Head of GS1 Institute, Steven Pereira.

The AIPM is the premier body for project management in Australia with a membership base of 10,000 individual members. GS1 Australia as the Australian member of the global GS1 organisation, assists 17,000 member companies nationally to enhance their efficiency and cost effectiveness by adopting best practice GS1 global supply chain standards and services.

Trevor Alex, National Director at the AIMP said, “The purpose of this MoU is to provide a framework for the exchange and collaboration of knowledge for the benefit of both our memberships. The signing of the MoU is a very positive move and one that the AIPM is excited to be involved in.”

The partnership will collaborate on a range of initiatives including important research projects, speaking engagements, round table discussions, project management best practice and GS1 Institute education and training courses.
