Association Forum wraps up successful 18th National Conference in Canberra
Associations Forum is proud to announce the successful conclusion of the Associations Forum National Conference, held at the National Convention Centre, Canberra from 30 April to 1 May.
John Peacock AM, CEO, Associations Forum was delighted with the packed conference.
“The event attracted over 400 delegates consisting of industry leaders, professionals and exhibitors from a diverse array of national and international industries, all ready to explore trends, collaborate and share ideas on the future of associations”, said Peacock. “The associations sector is thriving, and our conference is testament to that,” he continued.
Highlights of the conference included keynote speakers Andrew McKellar, Chief Executive, Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Tanya Barden OAM, Chief Executive Officer, Australian Food and Grocery Council, who delivered the opening plenary. They talked to the challenges that businesses face with inflation, interest rates, the cost of living and economic uncertainty.
Independent Senator David Pocock, and former Wallaby, shared his challenges about being on the crossbench and his vision for more support and protection for small business, and the need for a genuine consultation process regarding policies and changes that affect small business.
Celebrating its 20th year of ‘bringing associations together to boost performance’, conference attendees celebrated in style with dinner at the historical Old Parliament House – the setting of Australia’s seat of Government from 1927 to 1988.
