Associations Forum celebrates excellence at the 2023 Association Awards™ Dinner across organisations and individuals
On Tuesday, 21 November 2023, Associations Forum recognised achievement and excellence across the sector by outstanding associations and individuals at the Association Awards™ Dinner.
Association of the YearTM 2023 was awarded to the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA). In a year that celebrates the organisation’s 100-year anniversary, IPA unveiled significant achievements that underpin its mission to stand as a relevant, adaptable, and global professional accounting body that continually enriches member’s lives. Embarking on a journey of growth and innovation, IPA welcomed over 2,800 new members and forged impactful international partnerships that reverberated their global influence.
Small Association of the Year™ 2023 was awarded to Change Management Institute, who is renowned for operating as a global leader in strengthening, connecting, and advancing the change management profession and centres its member offering around assistance to develop capability, credibility, and connection in their pursuit of professional excellence.
Forestry Australia was awarded Association Turnaround of the Year™ 2023. Following decades of financial and member decline, the association has undergone significant transformation in the last five years that saw membership and member satisfaction increase, financial stabilisation, and the introduction of new member benefits.
The Australian Medical Association (AMA) was awarded the Association External Campaign of the Year™ 2023, for their ‘Clear the Hospital Logjam’ campaign. Aimed at tackling Australia’s public hospital crisis, the 2022-2023 Clear the Hospital Logjam campaign was one of AMA’s most widespread and impactful campaigns. It spoke directly to the public about the continued, deadly decline in performance of Australia’s public hospitals, and sought a complete overhaul of how public hospitals are funded.
For their long and exemplary service to associations, the following outstanding individuals were inducted into the Associations Hall of FameTM: Pamela Lee, Barbara Connelly, George Wall, Dave Clark, Loretta Kirkovski, Claire Hewat, and Stephen Hughes.
John Peacock AM, Chief Executive Officer of Associations Forum and Chair of the evening noted that “Associations are quiet achievers, and it is appropriate that the sector has an annual celebration of their achievements.” Mr. Peacock continued that “as each association plays a somewhat isolated role in representing their sector, it is motivating for all industries to come together and hear each other’s challenges and victories.”
Associations Forum would like to thank this year’s Association Awards™ and Association Hall of Fame™ sponsors: Sydney Masonic Centre, Lasercraft Australia, Nexia Australia, Causeis, Business Events Perth, Governology, EventPix, and ADI Displays.
