ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Dean Barnett, Chief Executive Officer, Water Industry Operations Association of Australia
Dean Barnett is a relatively new CEO at the Water Industry Operations Association of Australia, having been in the role for under two years. Prior to this, he led the Intelligent Water Networks Program on behalf of the Victorian and Tasmanian water industries. With over 30 years of experience in the water industry, Dean’s career spans from grassroots operations to management and executive roles.
In addition to his CEO role, Dean serves as a Board Director with the Institute of Water Administration (IWA) Victoria. He is deeply passionate about the operations sector of the water industry, particularly in areas of innovation and transformation.
Outside of his professional work, Dean is an active volunteer, contributing his time to Marine Rescue Queensland, Foster Care Queensland, and the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme. In his spare time, Dean enjoys spending quality time with loved ones and participating in outdoor activities such as bike riding, boating, camping, and fishing.
