Pat O’Shannassy, CEO of Grain Trade Australia, brings a wealth of experience in international trade, regulation, and industry collaboration. In this engaging lunch session, Pat will explore how global trade dynamics - particularly in agriculture - impact Australian businesses, consumers, and communities, offering insights relevant across sectors in an increasingly interconnected world.

Pat will explain the role of GTA in providing the Australian grain industry with a self-regulatory framework to facilitate trade.

Pat O’Shannassy, Chief Executive Officer, Grain Trade Australia  

Ben Campbell

Pat is the CEO of Grain Trade Australia, which is the leading trade organisation in the Australian grains industry. 

Pat  has vast industry experience in trading, risk management, policy and government relations, having spent more than 25 years in the grains industry in Australia and USA.   He has a diverse experience across the entire value chain,  working for trade houses, financial institutions and customer advisory   businesses.  

He currently serves as the elected President of the International Grain Trade Coalition (IGTC).  

He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture from University of Melbourne, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
