ABOUT THE PRESENTERS

Shirley Wu, Marketing Manager, Australian Medical Association

Shirley Wu is the Marketing Manager at Australian Medical Association (NSW). In her role, she is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of AMA (NSW)’s marketing activities, event promotion as well as membership acquisition and retention campaigns. She is also responsible for developing and fostering relationship between AMA (NSW) and its corporate partners. Shirley’s expertise is in deploying multi-channel/platform marketing campaigns and delivering personalised brand experience. Through her work within the health sector, Shirley has gained extensive knowledge of the medical profession. She has experience working with professionals at all stages of their career and from a wide variety of industry sectors. Shirley has a Master's degree in Business Administration from University of Adelaide and various marketing certifications.

 

David Browne, Executive Officer, Professional Teachers' Council NSW

David Browne has been in education for over 35 years. A primary education specialist, former Deputy of one of Sydney’s top private schools and Head of Junior school for 17 years in one of the top 5 private schools in Sydney. During this time, David actively participated as part of a whole school executive team, managing 800 students, 100 staff and many parents K-12. 

In his current position as Executive Officer of the Professional Teachers’ Council NSW, David works with Government departments, the Education Minister of NSW, the curriculum body, NSW Education and Standards Authority (NESA) developing educational protocols and policies for all schools in all sectors of NSW education. David also works directly with teachers assisting with the creation of accredited professional development courses in both curriculum and contemporary classroom best practice.

David supports over 130,000 trained teachers across all sectors and all subject areas in NSW and is involved in the Chinese education programs that David will be providing in Shenzhen.

 

Jo Rose, Programming and Strategy Director, Institute of Public Administration Australia NSW

Jo Rose is the Programming and Strategy Director for the Institute of Public Administration Australia which represents the 360 000 people who work in the NSW public sector. Jo has over 20 years’ experience developing, delivering and measuring the effectiveness of strategic communications and organisational operations. She is passionate about crafting strategies that reflect the needs of an organisation and its broad range of stakeholder. She enjoys working in complex and complicated environments and is driven to create product-market fit that delivers value to an organisation’s customers. Her background includes stints in digital development, film and television production, public relations, marketing and corporate communications.
