Masterclass: What to know about events and their marketing in the “new normal” landscape (Online)
This virtual Masterclass is designed to educate and share knowledge about the new events landscape - lessons for virtual, hybrid and live events delivery. Covid has changed the opportunity landscape especially for Associations and NFPs. It has also accelerated the adoption of enabling technology and has helped to create bigger communities and new ways to engage, service and retain members. One challenge is creating a fit-for-purpose event and then there is the often-daunting challenge of getting the marketing right.
Every organisation that relies on events to bring its community together must continue to evolve its member services. Just as the workforce now demands more flexible workplaces, Association members will expect their representative and professional Associations to offer more choices in the way they engage and share knowledge.
Join us to hear from four accomplished events and marketing leaders, who will share their insights to help Associations and NFPs chart the course for delivering successful events across all formats: live, virtual and hybrid.

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
Libbie Ray, Co-Director and Founder, Connected Event Group
Libbie Ray is Director of Connected Event Group which includes technical production company AV 24/7; hybrid and virtual events business, Digital Events; Connected Studios and custom event gifting company, Virtual Event Box. In 2020, Libbie was elected to the board of the Exhibition and Events Association of Australasia and was also the recipient of the EEAA Unsung Hero award in 2020. She is also on the board of the EO Sydney, Entrepreneurs Organisation. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and insights and is on the industry advisory committees of Skills IQ and NSW TAFE assisting with the development of the training and education frameworks
Libbie's 20 years of experience across Marketing, Events, Technology and TV production provides a well-rounded approach to the new world of events. Connected Event Group is an Australian-based organisation and supports businesses globally.
Arianne Bath, Sponsorship and Events Manager, National Insurance Brokers Association
Arianne Bath is responsible for sponsorships and events the National Insurance Brokers Association. She project manages events of all shapes and sizes including educational programs, seminars, workshops, multi-day programs, galas and exhibitions. These are delivered nationally. During Covid-19, Arianne adapted these events in order to keep her community engaged. This was achieved by turning to virtual and hybrid delivery which required a whole new set of skills. She has a track-record of creating a strong community by leveraging events and sponsorships. She works with suppliers and talent of all kinds.
Arianne has Diploma of Business focused in Business Management, Events and Marketing from Australian Industry Group Training Services.
Andrew Klein, Professional Speaker and Trainer
Andrew Klein is one of Australia’s most in-demand speakers and has been in the business for 25 years. A former lawyer, he works with a wide-range of corporates and associations to facilitate conferences, run workshops and deliver training packages to improve presentation skills including for pitching. His workshops include: "Life’s a Pitch"- Pitching for Business - How to make your company's pitch stand out from your competitors); "Awe them, don’t bore them" - Presentation Skills training and "Shine Online”- Engaging virtual audiences.
During Covid, Andrew transformed his business from doing face-to-face events and re-skilled to deliver online events for his clients.
James Lawrence, Co-Founder and Director, Rocket
James is co-founder of multi-award winning Australian digital marketing agency Rocket. Rocket was recently awarded Best Digital Services at the 2020 B&T Awards and Best Integrated Small Agency at the 2021 APAC Search Awards. James is also author of the Amazon Australia best-selling marketing book Smarter Marketer. Smarter Marketer was inspired by James’ 15-year digital marketing career working with over 300 Australian businesses as well as growing three of his own.
In both 2019 & 2020 James was short-listed for B&T’s Marketer of the Year award. James has Guest Lectured at the University of New South Wales, University of Wollongong and University of Technology Sydney.
