Sydney Member Meeting: Young Leaders and their Influence on Associations
Join us for this special Sydney Member Meeting for Association Young Leaders. There will also be an opportunity to network with other Associations Forum members.
This Member Meeting will bring together young leaders who are succeeding in associations and in leadership roles to discuss how young people can build a career within the associations sector and be a positive influence on their organisation.
Some of the points of discussion will include:
- How your career can progress in the associations sector
- How volunteering within the associations sector can affect your work life
- How young leaders keep an association relevant
This event is targeted at millenials and associations representatives in their 20s and 30s.
The meeting will be followed by networking drinks and canapés, sponsored by Doltone House.
Member Registrations: Free
Non-Member Registrations: $77 including GST (NFP only)
ABOUT THE PRESENTERS
Lucas Ryan, Senior Policy Adviser, Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD)
Lucas leads the AICD’s policy work on not-for-profit governance. His current areas of focus are strategic challenges for not-for-profits, regulatory reform, and public accountability and integrity frameworks. Previously, Lucas was a foundation staff member of the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission with responsibility for governance policy and education, and stakeholder engagement. He is a Graduate of the AICD and has held Director roles on NFP and government boards.
Daniel Bower,Chair, Young Engineers Australia Sydney & Management Consultant, HKA
Daniel is a member of Engineers Australia and is the current Chair of the Young Engineers Australia Sydney (YEAS) division committee, a volunteer run committee targeted at engaging with engineering undergraduates, graduates (up to the age of 35) and those new to the field. Daniel has been on the committee since March 2014 (as an undergraduate) and has held the positions of General Member, Events Manager, Treasurer, and Vice Chair. Day to day, Daniel works for HKA as a Management Consultant specialising in strategic analysis, controls development, benefit realisation and project management.
