Association Board Survey 2021 Findings Released
BOARDS RETURNING TO FACE-TO-FACE MEETINGS POST COVID-19
Associations Forum has released the results for the Association Board Survey 2021. One particular observation made this year is that the average number of face-to-face Board meetings scheduled has increased and the average number of online meetings has decreased, indicating Boards are slowly returning to face-to-face meetings post COVID-19.
As a major provider of practical governance training and advice to associations, Associations Forum has also made the following observations on the 14th annual Associations Board Survey:
- Presidents/Chairs of Boards are increasingly being elected by Boards.
- The number of female Directors on Boards has increased slightly.
- The percentage of associations surveyed that allocated funds for directors’ professional development has decreased.
- The number of organisations that pay directors’ fees, other than expense reimbursements, continues to decrease
The Association Board Survey, which has been conducted annually since 2008, examines a number of questions including Board composition and association governance. The Association Board Survey 2021 can be purchased for $200 (NFP non-members).
